The Big Turn

Forgive me, but am sincerely unapologetic,
Am not sorry for wedging a war against my body and soul,
Against what my head says and what my heart wants,
For wedging a war against my imaginary perceptions and what the reality truly is..
These organs of mine, got me entangled in a strict war,
Am unapologetic for standing up for myself,

Am unapologetic for being blunt,
Amidst your stunts,
They said "Love is Blind" but I find myself breaking free from the bond that bind,
My tears are dried up,
My hopes once thwarted has been rekindled,
I feel relieved,
After being so bereaved,

There's no hate in my heart anymore,
I stopped my self blames,
I was never the problem,
My empty spaced self, is refilled with fate and happy charts , twinkling like the stars,
I took the bold step into the leap,
Am not in regrets,
Yes, I am scared a few times,
Reminiscing on if I made the right turn or not,
But am filled with lots of conviction,
Keeping courage,
Counting my sacrifices,
Naming my devotions,
Calculating the number of cold nights, that I wandered alone like a lost eagle,
The eagle has made her way home,
She saw the light and flew high in the sky,
An abode where only the brave ones reside,
There's a man for every woman and a woman for every man,
Am not scared... am right here staying safe,
Keeping high hopes,
Smiling at the stars,
Watching the Moon smile back at me,
The wind whispering in my ears, "Your own time would make it all worth the falls, the pains and the thrilling finish laughter" like an ice on a cake,
The raindrops erasing every tear drops, the sun shone, patted my soul and promised to shine so bright that it chases away the darkness that engulfed before,
I stood at the valley, and held on to my strong emotions that has canvassed into my defense.
I am real, I am that woman, I am that strength and I am the hurricane survivor,
I am the Big Turn.
