" Covid-19 a joke we barely laughed at, a plague that took over the world and left it on a "Still Art".

                                                        

    It was the  "beginning of the end",  or was it, A repercussion of all sins committed by humans? ",

  It came like a hurricane and washed the surface of plans set out for the year.

 Everywhere was as quiet as a graveyard, we were forced to stay at home, we were engrossed with survival, plans might have changed, but lives has been saved, 

People had to suffer to feed everyday, it seemed impossible holding on for so long, 

  We were asked to cover our faces, it looked like a total blackout in world glimmering with lights, 

Walking in the light but tightly blindfolded,

 

The "force men" would rather extort and harass, with their guns, than support and make us understand better, 

It was a fight for survival, but how do we survive if you kill us before the pandemic does?

 We were supposed to be brothers, but people were robbed during the Pandemic's lockdown, 

Some bonds were broken, so, many relationship tussles trended on social media, husbands killing wives and wives killing husbands. 

On the verge of this pandemic, some people gained, while some lost, some obeyed the rules While some didn't.

    It seemed more like a fairy tale that reminds me of the story of "the princess and the beast". 

Eyes were raised, questionable fingers pointed at the news we once heard and the fears we once felt,

 Wondering how the number increases everyday, yet everyone seems to be doing just fine. 

You brought Men to their knees, you created an avenue for our prominent men to discover the gifts we have in our country, 

So, traveling abroad wasn't an option.

You made men realise the true essence of a " Home" 

You made men embrace Africa and it's beauty ,

 Unleashing the great talents in us, we searched for the remedy ourselves.

It showed us how fleeting life could be, how circumstances can change anytime, so, amidst the "Stay safe Protocols".

  Most persons are still ignorant of the " Wearing of face masks and observing social distancing "  

As fake as it might seem to be, remember we have only one chance to live, don't be a victim before the moral lesson. 

You played on us a "Reality checkmate" and for the rest of the year, we just want to survive, 

Whether or not you are in existence, maybe we exaggerated too much about your existence on this side, 

But you conveyed years of "Deep rooted messages" that would serve as a Reminder from generation to generation.

   There was a Pandemic that hit the world, it took lives but we survived, the era where we were scared to sneeze in public, it was that point when our wealth didn't mean a thing but our "survival" became the greatest wealth we could ever ask for.
